Ashley Banjo’s Secret Street Crew is greenlit for a third series

London, 14 March, 2013: Today Sky continues to invest in original factual entertainment content as it confirms a third series of hit show ASHLEY BANJO’S SECRET STREET CREW. Ahead of the second series, launching on 17th March, Michele Kurland, head of factual entertainment for Sky, has ordered up a third run from Shine TV

The series sees the unlikeliest of street dancers from around the UK surprising groups of friends and family with an incredible performance under the tutorage of Ashley Banjo. From dinner ladies, to darts players, to a squad of policeman, Ashley showed them all how learning to Street Dance is not just about mastering new steps but about gaining self-confidence and for many it turned out to be a life changing experience. For one group of darts players; the experience lead to them performing on one of Diversity’s 2012 tour dates.

The series is a real jewel in the crown of Sky 1 HD. The series gets bigger and better and each episode has left me tearful at the brilliant reveal where the groups line up to perform to their very surprised family and friends.”

This commission further demonstrates Sky’s commitment to invest in original content.
