Biggest ever month of international rugby union on Sky Sports
SkySports kicks off its biggest ever month of live international rugby union this weekend with the Autumn Internationals.
Over 35 live hours of international action are available for Sky Sports viewers in November with 13 Test matches across four consecutive weekends featuring 11 nations. Sky Sports will broadcast every England QBE International as well as all of Italy and France’s matches, and for the first time Ireland.
England v New Zealand this Saturday will see three World Cup-winning players in Jonny Wilkinson, Will Greenwood and Sean Fitzpatrick joined by World Cup-winning coach Sir Clive Woodward in the Sky Sports studio at Twickenham. The foursome,with over 250 international caps between them, will share their valuable insight and knowledge from 1:30pm exclusively live on Sky Sports 2.
Virtual player images will be used at Twickenham for the first time, bringing the stars of the international game into the Sky Sports studio. The Skycart, a portable giant touch screen used by Will Greenwood and Sky Sports analysts, will be pitch side at the home of England Rugby all month. It gives viewers greater in-depth pre-match analysis and allows the man of the match to review his performance straight after the final whistle.
Extensive coverage of England’s QBE Internationals on Sky Sports comes from 22 cameras within the stadium and a further giant touchscreen in the studio equipped with footage and stats to assist analysts with reaction to the match action.
Ireland v South Africa follows straight off the back of England’s clash with the All Blacks live on Sky Sports 2, kicking off at 5:30pm, with analysis and commentary from former Ireland internationals Paul Wallace and Alan Quinlan, and Thinus Delport will offer his insight on the Springboks.
