Celebrating inspirational achievements with Jessica Ennis
A very special event is taking place at Sky Studios in Osterley today, the Sky Sports Living for Sport Awards 2012.
Launched in 2003 in partnership with the Youth Sport Trust, Sky Sports Living for Sport uses sport stars and sport skills to improve the lives of thousands of young people across the UK every year.
The Awards will recognise the efforts of students and teachers who took part in Sky Sports Living for Sport projects during 2011 and 2012. With two categories: Student of the Year and Teacher of the Year, they will celebrate the successful way secondary schools are using sport to inspire young people and improve their life skills.
The Awards are being hosted on site at Sky. Over 250 people – a mixture of students, teachers, their families, guests and Sky staff – will be joining us to celebrate the achievements of 12 inspiring students from across the UK and three dedicated teachers who have gone the extra mile to run fantastic Sky Sports Living for Sport projects.
Leading the presentations will be our two ambassadors Jessica Ennis and Darren Campbell who will present the awards and help congratulate our winners. We will be announcing our overall Student of the Year and Teacher of the Year, both of whom will receive £2,000 towards their school’s next Sky Sports Living for Sport project as well as free Sky for a year for their families.
