Critically acclaimed Sky Atlantic drama ‘The Night Of’ viewed more than 2.5 million times on demand
Lauded Sky Atlantic drama The Night Of, starring Riz Ahmed, has been viewed more than 2.5 million times through Sky’s on demand platforms, including Sky Box Sets, the Sky Go app and online streaming service NOW TV.
To give customers the flexibility to watch the series in a way that best suits them, the whole eight-part series was made available to watch on-demand through Sky Box sets and NOW TV, at the same time as the first episode aired on Sky Atlantic on September 1.
The series is one of several new shows, including The Tunnel: Sabotage, Camping and Alan Partridge’s Mid Morning Matters Series 2, that Sky has made available for its customers to view in full on demand at the same time as a traditional linear broadcast. It follows in the success of financial drama Billions, starring Damian Lewis, which launched on Sky Atlantic in May,and has since been viewed more than 12 million times on demand.
The Night Of, co-created and written by Oscar-winning screenwriter Steven Zallian (Schindler’s List) and New York crime author Richard Price, tells the story of Nasir Khan (Riz Ahmed), a college student who lives with his parents in New York. One evening, Nasir takes his dad’s taxi without permission to drive to a party, and picks up a young woman, Andrea, who mistakes him for a real cabbie. They wind up having a drug-fuelled night together, but when Nasir wakes up a few hours later, he finds Andrea stabbed to death in her apartment. In a panic, he flees, leaving behind a wealth of forensic evidence that all points to him as her killer.
The series has been described as “some of the best TV you’ll see this summer –or all year” by Vanity Fair, “your next immersive crime obsession”, by The Telegraph and “superb” by The Times.

The entire series of The Night Of is available to watch on demand now with Sky Box Sets or a NOW TV Entertainment Month Pass. Episode four of The Night Of will air on Sky Atlantic this Thursday, September 22 at 9pm.
