Glee Season 5: A Katy or a Gaga, Friday 22nd November at 9PM on Sky 1 HD

Tuesday 19 November 2013

Following a short hiatus, hit musical comedy series Glee returns to Sky 1 HD with a homage to chart-toppers, Lady Gaga and Katy Perry. Will (Matthew Morrison) challenges the kids to get out of their comfort zones by assigning them music with the caveat that those who self-identify as a 'Gagas' must sing 'Katy' songs and vice-versa.

The weekly assignment begins to pervade the New Directions' everyday lives, as they don California Gurl and Little Monster-esque outfits to perform the stars' hit songs and re-enact their videos, including Gaga's Applause and Perry's Roar.

Adam Lambert (American Idol) begins his guest starring stint when, in New York, Kurt (Chris Colfer)and Santana (Naya Rivera), hold auditions for the new band they're starting with Rachel (Lea Michele)and Dani (Demi Lovato). Elliott Gilbert (Adam Lambert) - stage name Starchild - more than impresses with his rendition of Marry the Night, although Kurt is less than thrilled by the newcomer.

Since its debut, Glee has become a bona fide cultural phenomenon, receiving prestigious honours, critical acclaim, boasting a dedicated fan base of Gleeks, two platinum and three gold albums, more than 43 million songs and over 12 million albums sold worldwide, two sold-out concert tours and a 3D movie.

Glee Season 5 will return on 22nd November at 9pm on Sky 1 HD and will be available on the move with Sky Go. Connected customers can catch up using the On Demand service.
