Hotel Secrets with Richard E Grant open its doors to Sky Atlantic HD on 25th October

Thursday 11 October 2012

HOTEL SECRETS is a brand new luxury travel series presented by Richard E Grant exclusively for Sky Atlantic HD. The 8 x 60’ series will give a fascinating insight into the fantastic, fabulous and often downright scandalous stories behind some of the world’s most famous hotels. HOTEL SECRETS is produced by Burning Bright Productions and will start on Sky Atlantic HD in Thursday 25th October.

Combining interviews with everyone from hotel designers to Bell Hops, employees and industry commentators, Richard will uncover the truth behind some of the most exciting hotels in the world as well as the outrageous behaviour of the guests whose inhibitions leave them once they’re through the door. Commenting on his involvement with the series, Richard said: “I am very excited to be involved in HOTEL SECRETS for Sky Atlantic HD. I love to travel and the chance to visit some of the most iconic hotels in the world and learn more about the dazzling and dark secrets they hide was just too good to miss.”

Across the eight episodes, Richard will visit some of the world’s most exclusive hotels where the great, the good, and the infamous have lived, loved, dined and died. Hotels featured include Le Meurice in Paris, The Chelsea and Waldorf in New York, Chateau Marmont in LA, The Savoy and The Goring in London, Hotel de Paris in Monaco and The Clarence in Dublin. Interviewees include Donald Trump, Britt Eckland, Dali’s muse Amanda Lear, David Coulthard, Heidi Fleiss and hotelier Andre Balazs amongst others. Each episode will be themed to highlight different aspects of hotel life, such as outrageous guest requests, how to treat a VIP for whom money is no object, sex scandals, living and dying in hotels, what goes into the organisation of show stopping events, and what sets these world class hotels head and shoulders above the rest.

HOTEL SECRETS is the latest commission from Sky Atlantic HD following Sky’s commitment to increase its investment in original British content by 50% over the next three years. By 2014, Sky expects to invest £600 million a year in British programmes across its portfolio of channels. Sky Atlantic HD is to be a major part of that charge by commissioning bold, authored pieces with strong narrative stories across a range of genres including drama, entertainment, factual and factual entertainment.

HOTEL SECRETS is a Burning Bright Production for Sky Atlantic. The series is Executive Produced by Siobhan Mulholland for Sky, and Clive Tulloh and Nicky Taylor for Burning Bright. The producer and director is Mike Reilly.

The series will start on Monday 25th October, 9pm, Sky Atlantic HD, On Demand and on the move with Sky Go.
