Lena Dunham's GIRLS returns to Sky Atlantic HD in January

Thursday 19 December 2013

GIRLS SEASONS 1 TO 3 ONLY ON SKY

Seasons 1 and 2 available On Demand from Sunday 19 January

Season 3 premieres 10pm, Monday 20 January exclusively on Sky Atlantic HD

Sky Atlantic HD today (Thursday 19 December) announces that Lena Dunham’s BAFTA® Award-winning GIRLS returns for its third season with a double bill of the first two brand new episodes at 10pm on Monday 20 January 2014. The complete box-sets of seasons one and two of GIRLS will also be available through Sky’s On Demand services from Sunday 19 January.

Following the misadventures of a group of 20-something friends in NYC, GIRLS centres on Hannah Horvath (Dunham) and her mess of anxieties, insecurities and uncertainty as she approaches her mid-20s. Over this season’s 12 episodes, the friendships between the girls are more volatile than ever, proving that female friendship is its own kind of romance. As always, love, life, sex and death can all interrupt the circuitous path to adulthood – and will arrive when you’re least prepared. The cast also includes Allison Williams as Marnie, Zosia Mamet as Shoshanna, Jemima Kirke as Jessa, Adam Driver as Adam Sackler and Alex Karpovsky as Ray Ploshansky.

Dunham executive produces along with Judd Apatow, Jenni Konner and Ilene S. Landress; Bruce Eric Kaplan is consulting producer.

On Demand is available at no extra cost to Sky TV customers with a connected Sky+HD box. Sky’s On Demand service continues to prove popular with weekly downloads growing fourfold between July and September this year. The award-winning Sky Go service is available on selected smartphones, tablets and PCs with over 3 million monthly unique users.

The third series of GIRLS premieres exclusively on Sky Atlantic HD at 10pm on Monday 20 January.  Customers with connected boxes can catch up on seasons 1 and 2 On Demand from 19 January.
