Hot TV (Daily Star)

Take a classic teen movie, the creator of a popular drama and a director whose video killed the radio star and what have you got? Only the most exciting supernatural drama to hit TV screens since The Vampire Diaries, fangs very much!

Going through adolescence isn't easy, but when you're also contending with being a werewolf, handling hormones and high school dramas can be all the harder to handle. Based on the 1985 cult classic and developed by Jeff Davis, the whizz behind Criminal Minds, Teen Wolf centres on Scott (Tyler Posey), whose humdrum life underwent a mythological metamorphosis following an attack from an unnatural beast.

Through fellow werewolf Derek (Tyler Hoechlin), Scott became brutally introduced to the dark underbelly of his unassuming hometown. Lurking in the woods was the barbarous Alpha, who bit Scott with the intention of recruiting him to his blood-thirsty pack and who Scott needed to kill for a chance of returning to a 'normal' life. However, they shared a common enemy. A troop of hunters have targeted their kind since the Middle Ages, but Allison (Crystal Reed), Scott's girlfriend, is their descendent and is expected to join the family business.

Scott's fate was sealed in the first season finale as his only chance of being cured was snatched by Derek, who has taken the Alpha's title of top dog. Returning in the weeks following the cataclysmic clash, Scott and Allison have saved their relationship, but it faces onerous obstacles. With Jackson

(Colton Haynes) begging Derek to transform him and Lydia (Holland Roden) showing strange symptoms in hospital, the form these characters will take in this series is yet to be seen.

After an action-packed end to its premiere season, Teen Wolf jumps full force into season two with even more suspense and drama. Scott McCall, an ordinary teenager with a wild secret, continues to find himself caught in a supernatural war between hunters and werewolves. While navigating the complicated roadways of high school, Scott must keep his forbidden romance with Allison a secret and protect himself from new Alpha wolf Derek. Scott will have to trust his instincts above all else if he hopes to end the war in Beacon Hills and keep his friends and family safe.

A host of new cast members including Michael Hogan (Battlestar Galactica), Bianca Lawson (Buffy the Vampire Slayer) and Gage Golightly (Ringer) will cause the claws to come out in full force. Building on its howling success, the return of Teen Wolf is certain to make hearts flutter with anticipation and ardour.

Season two, which will feature 12 hour-long episodes, stars Tyler Posey as Scott McCall, Crystal Reed as Allison Argent, Dylan O'Brien as Stiles, Tyler Hoechlin as Derek Hale, Holland Roden as Lydia Martin, and Colton Haynes as Jackson Whittemore.

Teen Wolf series 2 begins Thursday 12th July, 8pm, Sky Living HD
