London, Thursday 1st May 2014: Sky Living HD today announces a deal with Disney UK & Ireland to become the UK home of new seasons of ABC Studios’ critically acclaimed and multi-award-winning political thriller, SCANDAL.
The deal will bring the third series of SCANDAL exclusively to Sky Living HD customers this summer. It will sit alongside the channel's other hit US shows including: Hannibal, Elementary and The Blacklist, as well as ABC Studios' smash hit, Grey's Anatomy, also created by Shonda Rhimes, creator of SCANDAL. But for those who may not yet have been bitten by the Scandal bug, don’t worry there is plenty of time to catch up on the Box sets of series 1 & 2, as part of the ABC Studios service, before the start of series 3.
Antonia Hurford-Jones, Director, Sky Living HD said “Living dramas are known for compelling storytelling, engaging characters and intricate relationships and SCANDAL has all of the above in spades. It is the most addictive series and I’m thrilled to be able to share it with our customers. Working with the incredibly talented Shonda and Betsy again will be a delight.”
Catherine Powell, SVP/GM, Media Distribution, Disney EMEA said: “SCANDAL combines incredibly gripping plotlines with strong performances from its cast to make one of the most irresistible hours of TV that you can experience, with the high production values and emotional pull that ABC Studios delivers.”
The series has already been showered with critical acclaim in the US, where it airs on ABC, and has an ardent fan base across the globe. SCANDAL follows the twists and turns of crisis manager, Olivia
Cont..
Pope (Kerry Washington: Ray, Django Unchained) and her team of lawyers, hackers and political insiders, revered and feared at the same time. Olivia, a former media consultant to the President of the United States, left the White House to open her own prominent crisis management firm and
now dedicates her life to protecting and defending the public images of the nation’s elite and keeping their secrets under wraps.
The series also stars Columbus Short (Stomp the Yard), Guillermo Diaz (Half-Baked), Darby Stanchfield (NCIS), Katie Lowes (Easy Money), Tony Goldwyn (Ghost), Jeff Perry (Grey’s Anatomy), Bellamy Young (Criminal Minds), Joshua Malina (The West Wing) and Scott Foley (True Blood).
Behind the camera, creator Shonda Rhimes takes the helm as executive producer and is once again joined by executive producers, Betsy Beers and Mark Wilding.
In season 3 fans of the show can look forward to Olivia and her team facing their biggest scandal to date with a surprising allegiance being formed in order to get things handled.
