America’s Favourite Jewish Mothers Are Coming Exclusively to Sky Atlantic HD

As part of its continued investment in original UK content, Sky today (Thursday 29 March, 2012) announces the commission of a brand new 6-part chat show, RONNA & BEVERLY, exclusively for Sky Atlantic HD.

RONNA & BEVERLY, lifelong friends (not counting the two years they didn’t speak) and well preserved fifty-somethings, are bringing their unique brand of no-nonsense wisdom and, mostly unwanted, advice to Sky customers.

Having conquered America, Sky Atlantic HD is thrilled to announce that RONNA & BEVERLY are going to be hosting their very own chat show right here in the UK.

Some of the biggest names in showbiz are queuing up to appear on the show and experience the RONNA & BEVERLY ‘treatment’ and previous guests in the theatrical show include Matt Lucas, Matthew Perry, Russell Brand, Dan Stevens, Miranda Hart, Simon Bird, Aflie Boe and Katy Brand.

A pilot episode of the show filmed recently and featured appearances from Mad Men star Jon Hamm and Episodes star Stephen Mangan.

Ronna and Beverly are played by American writers and performers Jessica Chaffin and Jamie Denbo. Between them their credits include Entourage, Curb Your Enthusiasm and Sex And The City. Following a series of critically acclaimed stage shows in the UK and across the States, Ronna and Beverly have become one of the most established and well-loved live acts, thanks to a combination of outrageously funny celebrity interviews and beautifully observed comic performances from Jesssica and Jamie.

RONNA & BEVERLY is a co-production between Hat Trick Productions in the UK and Bridemaids director, Paul Feig’s Classy Productions in the US, exclusively for Sky Atlantic HD. The Series Producer is Stu Mather. Executive Producers are Paul Feig and Jimmy Mulville. The series was commissioned by Lucy Lumsden, Head of Comedy Sky. Saskia Schuster is Executive Producer for Sky.

RONNA & BEVERLY is part of Sky's commitment to increase its investment in original British content by 50% over the next three years. By 2014, Sky expects to invest £600 million a year in British programmes across its portfolio of channels.  The commission of HUNDERBY (Julia Davis); and WALKING AND TALKING (Kathy Burke) and the acquisition of STRANGELY UPLIFTING and VEEP (Armando Iannucci) continue to build Sky Atlantic’s comedy momentum in 2012.

RONNA & BEVERLY will transmit later in 2012 on Sky Atlantic HD, and also be available on the move via Sky Go.
