Sky Living to air hit new US crime thriller Blindspot

Monday 5 October 2015

Fresh from the US, Blindspot comes to Sky Living this November with some serious pedigree, premiering as the highest-rated new show on NBC among Adults 18–49 since The Blacklist in 2013. The show demonstrates Sky Living’s ambition of bringing its customers even more of the addictive storylines and strong, confident characters they love to watch.

Blindspot stars Sullivan Stapleton (300: Rise of an Empire, Strike Back) as hardened FBI agent Kurt Weller, Jaimie Alexander (Thor, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D) as Jane Doe and Academy Award Nominee Marianne Jean-Baptiste (Secret & Lies, Broadchurch, Without a Trace) as FBI Assistant Director Bethany Mayfair.

Viewers are introduced to Doe in the most the unexpected of circumstances, naked in a bag in Times Square, with no memory of who she is or how she got there, covered in a series of cryptic tattoos …one of which includes Weller’s name. It is this mysterious connection that brings the two characters together and begins their journey, under the watchful eye of Mayfair, as they investigate the veritable treasure map that are her tattoos. The road map of her body leads the FBI toward a larger conspiracy of crime, while bringing Jane Doe closer to discovering the truth about her identity. The investigations lead Weller and his teammates at the FBI into a high-stakes underworld that twists and turns through a labyrinth of secrets and revelations — and the information they uncover might ultimately change the world.

It’s also this journey which brings Weller and Doe closer together, and with every passing day, she unveils a new skill or a hidden talent without understanding its origin, while Weller is drawn deeper into his troubled, complicated relationship with this enigmatic woman. They both strive to make a connection, unaware of the dangerous blindspot that threatens them both.

Julia Barry, Director Sky Living said of the show, “Blindspot has one of the most compelling opening sequences I’ve seen, with a thrilling storyline that customers won’t want to miss. The combination of such a captivating crime drama and the intriguing relationship between Sullivan and Jaimie will ensure Sky Living has an even stronger US crime drama line-up this year.”

Blindspot will sit alongside Sky Living's existing hit US dramas including; The Blacklist, Elementary and Scandal as well as a host of other hotly anticipated shows which join the line-up this autumn.
