Sky Max to broadcast Game4Ukraine in UK & Ireland bringing icons from football and music together as a force for good

Game4Ukraine, the brainchild of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Ukrainian footballing royalty Andriy Shevchenko and Oleksandr Zinchenko will be kicking off exclusively on Sky Max, in the UK and Ireland on Saturday 5th August at 5-9pm. The 11-a-side legends match will also be free-to-stream for everyone based in Ukraine. 

Game4Ukraine will see Team Blue coached by legendary Chelsea manager Emma Hayes take on former Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger’s Team Yellow with an array of Premier League, World Cup and European Cup winners across both sides including Gerard Piqué, Clarence Seedorf, Patrick Vieira, Fabio Cannavaro, Samuel Eto’o, Gianfranco Zola and  Michael Essien. 
 
Fans will also be entertained throughout the event with Super Bowl style performances where the stadium will transform into a concert venue with world class entertainers including Alesha Dixon, Melanie C (DJ), Pete Doherty, The Pretenders, Tom Grennan, and Tom Walker, as well as Ukranian artist Vakarchuk of Ocean Elzy Band and Boombox. 

Tom Grennan commented: “I’ feel so lucky to be able to be a part of Game4Ukraine where two of my biggest passions, music and football will come together for the most special cause, I can’t wait to play in the match and perform to a packed-out stadium and entertain all the fans.”

Melanie C added: The power of music and sport translates all over the world, across generations. I am honoured to show my support for the children of Ukraine in raising vital funds for their future. It’s going to be an incredible day of entertainment both on and off the pitch for everyone, and I’ll be making sure everyone is up dancing in the Half-Time Show.” 

Game4Ukraine’s mission is to bring the football community and communities beyond together in the face of adversity to promote optimism; looking to the future and rebuilding vital educational resources so that safe and sanitary conditions are provided for the children of Ukraine. 
Shevchenko and Zinchenko are Ambassadors of UNITED24 - the official fundraising platform of Ukraine curated by President Zelenskyy and the pair recently joined the President in visiting the Mykhailo-Kotsiubynsky Lyceum school, in Chernihiv Oblast which has been almost destroyed by missile strikes and will directly benefit from funds raised by the match.

Oleksander Zinchenko added: “It’s incredible to see so many big names from the world of football come together to help us raise vital funds to start rebuilding our beautiful country. I hope we can fill the stadium on August 5th and really make this a day to be proud of.”

Yellow Team Coach Arsene Wenger said “We have an incredible line-up of talent involved in Game4Ukraine and I’m honoured to be leading them out, alongside Emma Hayes. It’s going to be a great day with lots of entertainment, and hopefully we can raise enough money to begin the vital rebuild of schools in Ukraine.” 

Blue Team Coach Emma Hayes added: “What a privilege and a wonderful opportunity to coach. I simply couldn’t turn this down. I feel very honoured to lead the team with Andriy Shevchenko as our captain and across the technical area from Arsene Wenger who I have looked up to for many years. I can’t remember the last time that I saw this volume of talent on show all at once, so please do come out and support such a brilliant cause.”
