Sky Movies Disney celebrates 1st Birthday
Sky Movies Disney, the home of new and classic Disney movies, today (Friday 28 March 2014) celebrates its 1st birthday. Launched a year ago today, the magical channel offers Sky Movies customers an unbeatable range of Disney titles – including animated classics, live action adventures, Disney·Pixar favourites and the latest blockbusters – with flexibility over where, when and how they choose to enjoy them.
This weekend, Sky Movies Disney celebrates its 1st birthday with the UK television premieres of Monsters University and Planes, along with Disney’s Greatest Moments (1x 90’), a retrospective celebration charting the top 30 moments of Disney movies as voted by the public. Featuring commentary from the creators, stars and celebrity fans of the most magical Disney moments including Jeremy Irons, Tom Hanks, Kristen Bell, Idina Menzel, Ashley Jensen, Richard E Grant and Jonathan Ross, Disney’s Greatest Moments (1x 90’) is a Sky Movies production.
To mark the channel’s first birthday, Sky Movies hosted a party for a group of babies who share their birth year with the channel. Dressed as Disney characters from Monsters University, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, One Hundred and One Dalmatians (1961) and Toy Story of Terror! – all of which are available on Sky Movies Disney this weekend – the one year olds enjoyed a giant birthday cake created by London cake and cupcake specialist Crumbs & Doilies.
