Sky Movies unveils 007 channel logo and brand new Bond advert
London (5th September 2012): Sky Movies today unveils the channel logo for Sky Movies 007 HD, the brand’s dedicated Bond channel which will be available to customers throughout October 2012.
Uniting the Sky Movies logo with the iconic 007 gun emblem of the franchise, the creation of the Sky Movies 007 HD logo marks the first time a movie emblem has been incorporated within one of its channel logos.
Marking the first time in UK history all the Bond films will be available to enjoy in one place, in HD, on demand and without ad breaks, Sky Movies 007 HD launches on Friday 5th October.
The Sky Movies 007 HD logo will have its first on-air outing today, within a spectacular TV and cinema advert heralding the arrival of the entire Bond franchise to the service and the launch of its dedicated Bond channel.
Uniting all six Bonds in one exhilarating car chase sequence using footage from Dr No, On Her Majesty’s Secret Service, The Spy Who Loved Me, The Living Daylights, Goldeneye, The World Is Not Enough and Quantum of Solace, Sky Movies’ seamless sequence features all of the Bonds as portrayed over the course of the franchise by Sean Connery, George Lazenby, Roger Moore, Timothy Dalton, Pierce Brosnan and Daniel Craig.
Lucian Smithers, Brand Director, comments: “The Sky Movies 007 HD logo marks the first time in Sky Movies’ history we’ve incorporated the logo of another film brand into our own; partnering our logo with Bond’s 007 emblem shows just how passionate and excited we are about the arrival of this brilliantly British film franchise to our service in its 50th anniversary year.”
Bond fans will have the films at their fingertips via Sky Movies’ comprehensive TV on-demand service Sky Anytime+, with all of the films also available on demand and on the move via Sky Go, Sky’s award-winning multiplatform TV service available across PC, Mac, laptop, iPhone, iPad and Android phones. In addition, customers who subscribe to Sky Movies via NOW TV, the brand new internet TV service from Sky, will also be able to enjoy the entire Bond catalogue. The twenty-third film in the franchise, Skyfall, will be available to rent through Sky Store and on Sky Movies in 2013.
The films arrive on Sky Movies to coincide with the 50th anniversary of the franchise, with the first film, Dr No, released on 5th October 1962.
