Sky named 'Best broadband or TV provider 2014' at the Recombu Awards
Sky last night was recognised by Recombu readers as ‘Best Broadband or TV Provider 2014’, fending off stiff competition from TalkTalk, Virgin Media and BT.
Thomas Newton, Features Editor at Recombu praised the service, saying: Whether it’s live and exclusive Premier League football, the latest movies, exclusive cutting edge drama, the ability to watch TV channels on up to four mobile devices, superfast broadband delivering download speeds of up to 76Mbps or the UK’s largest catch-up and on-demand library... for some reason - or maybe it’s all of the above reasons - our readers overwhelmingly voted for Sky as the best broadband and TV provider for the 2014 Recombu Reader Awards."
The Recombu award follows several other accolades over the last 12 months for Sky Broadband from Ofcom and USwitch and several other awards this autumn have recognised the simplicity of Sky+ which has evolved to bring On Demand to the front of the TV Guide this year.
Luke Bradley-Jones, Sky’s Brand Director for TV Products comments: "Thanks to all the Recombu readers who voted for us. We’ve worked tirelessly to keep improving our On Demand service this year to help customers easily find shows they want to watch through a simpler and more seamless viewing experience."
Lyssa McGowan, Director of Sky Broadband comments: "It’s a great honour to be recognised by those who read Recombu. We’re committed to ensuring our 5 million broadband customers have unlimited broadband that has 99.9% core network reliability and absolutely no usage limits. We’ll never slow down a broadband connection, even at peak times.”
Sky+, Britain’s most popular personal video recorder (PVR), makes it even easier for customers to enjoy Sky’s On Demand service with its built in Wi-Fi functionality. Sky’s On Demand service is currently enjoyed in over 5 million homes and registering an average of 18.7 million downloads a week.
