Sky wins best ‘triple-play’ provider at uSwitch Awards 2014

Friday 24 January 2014

Sky has been named Britain’s favourite ‘triple-play’ provider, winning Best Provider of TV, Broadband and Home Phone at the prestigious uSwitch Broadband awards in London last night.

The award was one of four awards won by Sky at the ceremony last night. Sky was victorious in a third of all categories, winning the largest number of awards of the night.

Other awards won included Best TV Provider for the second year running, Best Customer Benefits and Best TV Streaming Service for its multi award-winning mobile TV service Sky Go.

The award for Best Broadband, TV and Home Phone reinforces Sky’s status as Britain’s favourite ‘triple-play’ provider. More than 4 million people choose Sky for all three of TV, broadband and home phone. Meanwhile the award for Best TV Provider reflects the continuing success of Sky+HD set-top box, which once connected to broadband delivers customers hundreds of hours of catch up TV at no extra cost, plus access to hundreds of TV box sets.

Sky Go – uSwitch’s Best TV Streaming Service – continues to grow in popularity. Sky customers can now enjoy up to 57 channels through the service, which lets them watch live and on demand TV wherever they want. The availability of products such as this, plus backstage access to events for customers, also helped Sky win the prize for Best Customer Benefits.

Lyssa McGowan, Director of Communications Products at Sky, comments: “We’re delighted to be recognised at the uSwitch Broadband awards across a wide range of categories. Over the last 12 months our triple-play offering has gone from strength to strength as we’ve continued to invest in delivering great quality TV to customers across multiple platforms alongside great-value unlimited broadband and home phone services.”

The sixth annual uSwitch Awards were voted for by 3,000 broadband customers and a judging panel of experts. Please click here for more information on the full list of award winners.
