Stars celebrate The South Bank Show in song
Watch a host of stars pay tribute to The South Bank Show as they recreate the iconic theme tune to the Sky Arts series.
Comedians Frank Skinner, Eddie Izzard and Ronni Ancona, actor Jason Watkins, author Kathy Lette and opera stars Lesley Garrett and Angel Blue celebrated the series by breaking out into song in this clip, recorded at The South Bank Sky Arts Awards.
The tune, a variation on Paganini's Caprice No.24, famously forms the opening to every episode of the unique show, which covers all aspects of the arts.
The new series of The South Bank Show, presented by Melvyn Bragg, starts this Wednesday (15 June) at 8pm on Sky Arts. It includes episodes featuring prolific music production duo Sly and Robbie, opera star Joyce DiDonato, screenwriter Russell T Davies, actor Benedict Cumberbatch, dance company Ballet Black and celebrated poet and author Jackie Kay.
