Sue Perkins To Host Sky Atlantic’s Thronecast When Series Returns With New, Live Format in April
Sky Atlantic’s Thronecast will return bigger and bolder than ever before with a new format hosted by Sue Perkins (The Great British Bake Off) when the hugely anticipated fifth series of Game of Thrones premieres on the channel in April.
Broadcast live in front of a studio audience following the UK transmission of each new episode of Game of Thrones, Thronecast will launch with a 1x60’ special following the UK premiere of S5 on Monday 13 April and continue with a further 9x30’ live episodes accompanying the series’ run.
Each week Sue will be joined in the studio by a panel including cast, crew, celebrity fans and guest experts who will discuss and dissect the latest storylines, offering entertaining and unparalleled insights into the world of Westeros.
Continuing to deliver the traditional elements of Thronecast that fans know and love, the series’ Game of Thrones aficionado Jamie East will return to deliver special reports and audience interaction alongside sneak peeks to forthcoming episodes and behind the scenes footage.
Embracing the series’ ‘watercooler TV’ status, the new live format of Thronecast will also encourage reaction from and engagement with the viewers at home via Twitter and Facebook.
The new series of Thronecast hosted by Sue Perkins launches immediately after the UK premiere of Game of Thrones S5 on Monday 13 April on Sky Atlantic.
Sky TV and NOW TV customers who have missed – or want to revisit – the series to date can catch up ahead of the arrival of the new, fifth season with Game of Thrones S1-4 TV Box Sets available On Demand with Sky and NOW TV from 1 March.
Thronecast will be produced by CPL Productions for Sky Atlantic. Series Producer is Lizzie O’Donohoe and Executive Producers are Murray Boland and Danielle Lux for CPL Productions and Chris Brogden for Sky.
