Wednesday 31 October 2012

Sky and Management Today are proud to announce the winners of the MT Sky Future Leaders Awards. The five rising stars in sustainability were selected following a tough and competitive judging process by an expert panel including Jeremy Darroch (CEO, Sky), Matthew Gwyther (Editor, Management Today), Barbara Stocking (CEO, Oxfam), Carl Gilleard (CEO, Association of Graduate Recruiters), Jonathon Porritt (Co-Founder of Forum for the Future) and Kai Peters (Dean of Ashridge Business School).

The awards recognise those individuals across a range of sectors who have demonstrated best practice in business responsibility, from establishing ethical ways of working and cutting carbon emissions to collaborating with partners and contributing to local communities.

Future leaders from organisations across the UK entered to be recognised in one of the five categories spanning MBA Mastermind to Corporate Ace. The awards have provided an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of the next generation of leaders who have sustainability at the heart of their careers and are applying it across the workplace.

The winners are:

Corporate Ace: Rachel Sinha of ICAEW MBA

Mastermind: Keegan Cotton of SunDial Power Pods

Non-profiteer: Jane Burston of Centre for Carbon Measurement

One to Watch: Alan Mak from Clifford Chance and Magic Breakfast

Start-Up Star: Toby Darbyshire from Engensa

Jeremy Darroch, Sky Chief Executive said: "Our search to recognise the next generation of leaders in business sustainability has uncovered a wealth of talented people who are committed to integrating sustainability into day-to-day business. The finalists of the MT Sky Future Leaders awards were chosen for the impact they are having today, and the action they are taking to ensure that their organisations are sustainable into the future. There is much we can learn from them."
