The Following returns to Sky Atlantic HD

Wednesday 11 December 2013

- Created by Kevin Williamson and starring Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy
- Starts Tuesday 21 January at 10pm exclusively on Sky Atlantic HD

Sky Atlantic HD today (11th December, 2013) announces that the hit psychological thriller THE FOLLOWING will return for its second season on Tuesday 21 January at 10pm, two days after its US premiere on Sunday. The rest of the series will air just one day after the US. Created by Kevin Williamson, the series stars Golden Globe winner and Emmy® nominee Kevin Bacon and James Purefoy.

The first season finale saw a highly anticipated face-off between FBI agent Ryan Hardy (Bacon) and notorious serial killer Joe Carroll (Purefoy), who had escaped from death row and embarked on a new killing spree. Ryan raced desperately to stop Joe before his endgame reached its deadly conclusion, ending in Joe’s seemingly ultimate demise and leaving Ryan’s true love, Claire (Natalie Zea), hanging on for her life.

Now, heading into its intense, spellbinding second season, THE FOLLOWING will catch up with Ryan in the wake of a horrific new murder spree. The FBI calls on him and Mike Weston (Shawn Ashmore) to speak with the lone survivor, Lily (Connie Nielsen), in order to help them solve the case. Ryan is reluctant to re-engage with the FBI, but finds a valuable ally in his niece, Max (Jessica Stroup), an NYPD cop working in the Intel Division. As the investigation proceeds, Ryan crosses paths with several complicated individuals, including Luke (Sam Underwood) and Mandy Lang (Tiffany Boone), which furthers his suspicion that Joe Carroll’s reign of terror is far from over.

THE FOLLOWING returns exclusively to Sky Atlantic HD on Tuesday 21 January at 10pm.

Customers will also be able to watch with Sky Go available on PC, Xbox, iPad and selected smartphones at no extra cost.
