The Glee Project Season 2

Fourteen talented performers, one guest starring role on Glee

Glee co-creator Ryan Murphy once declared that his award-winning series needed new blood, as the "kids who started with the show will be graduating very soon". Following the success of The Glee Project Season 1 and its winner and runner up positions taking the stage as McKinley recruits, The Glee Project is back to find fresh performing talent but this time only one performer can win the coveted prize.

Over eleven episodes 14 extraordinary performers will work with the Glee team  – Casting Director Robert Ulrich, choreographer Zach Woodlee, vocal coach, arranger and songwriter Nikki Anders, and music video director Erik White, plus a special guest connected to the series – competing against one another to win a seven episode guest-starring role on Glee.

The hopefuls are narrowed down through intensive rounds of workshops, singing, dancing and acting–based assignments as the creative forces of Glee carefully assess which of them has what it takes to be one of the next new faces of the award winning show.

Each week, they must complete assignments on themes such as individuality, theatricality and vulnerability, and perform together in an eye-catching music video as the Glee team assess who has what it takes to be one of the new faces at McKinley High. Three at-risk contenders will have to sing in a last chance performance in front of Ulrich, Woodlee and Murphy, who then decide which of the trio is out of the running.

THE GLEE PROJECT contenders, aged between 18 and 22, include Dani, who made it to the final 48 of America’s Got Talent last year, and Aylin who comes from a very traditional Turkish family and, being Muslim, has trouble balancing who she is with who her family expect her to be. Vanderbilt University student Tyler is half black, half white, Jewish and transgender, he uses Lady Gaga as a constant inspiration in his music. L.A. based Blake has a passion for acting and moved to the city to pursue his dream of becoming a professional actor, he loves to sing, but has never had a lesson.

The competition is fierce, and the 14 are tested emotionally and physically as they go from the highs of meeting guests from Glee such as Chris Colfer (Kurt) and Jane Lynch (Sue Sylvester), to the fear of elimination.

Called "a must-see show" by Entertainment Weekly, People Magazine also noted that "Very few reality shows generate real suspense and sadness at the moment of elimination, but this one does", making THE GLEE PROJECT a must see for every true GLEEK.

Glee, a multi Emmy and Golden Globe award winner and Billboard record book regular, will be returning for a fourth season on Sky 1 HD in early 2013. With guest stars including Sarah Jessica Parker and Kate Hudson, it’s an exciting time for McKinley High.

The Glee Project Season 2 will be on Sky 1 HD, October 2012.
