“Sometimes things die and there’s nothing you can do about it” (Callie)
TX: Wednesday 7th November, 10pm, Sky Living HD
The award winning US drama, GREY’S ANATOMY is back for the highly anticipated ninth series, airing exclusively in the UK on SKY LIVING HD this November. The emotional eighth-season finale left fans on tenterhooks, not knowing who was going to survive, after Seattle Grace favourites Meredith (ELLEN POMPEO), Derek (PATRICK DEMPSEY), Cristina (SANDRA OH), Mark (ERIC DANE) Arizona (JESSICA CAPSHAW) and Lexie (CHYLER LEIGH) plummeted thousands of feet in a horrific plane crash.
With Lexie, tragically succumbing to her injuries, fans of the show don’t have to wait long to find out the fate of her colleagues as the season nine premiere jumps ahead in time, before flashing back to the scene of the crash to chart their rescue. As the true impact and aftermath of the crash are revealed, we see how the survivors cope with their losses and learn to move forward with their relationships and careers.
There are also a new batch of interns gracing the halls of Seattle Grace Mercy West Hospital, including; Jo (CAMILLA LUDDINGTON, True Blood), Heather (TINA MAJORINO True Blood) and Shane (GAIUS CHARLES, Friday Night Lights). As these new residents settle in, it soon becomes clear that they are petrified of Meredith, who is now attending general surgeon. Nicknamed ‘Medusa’ by her interns, Meredith has to choose the most promising student to undertake their first surgery with her. She decides on Jo but it doesn’t go quite as well as they had planned.
In other news, heartthrob Alex (JUSTIN CHAMBER) appears to be getting on particularly well with this seasons new interns but with his place at the John Hopkins Hospital waiting for him, will he finally be able to say goodbye to Seattle Grace?
