Sky launches Ultrafast, 12 times faster broadband so you can do more online on even more devices

Tuesday 20 August 2019

Sky today announced the launch of an all-new broadband offering, Sky Broadband Ultrafast, which will allow customers to do more online, on more devices than ever before, all at the same time.

Ultrafast gives 2 million households access to over 12 times faster speeds than Sky’s standard broadband, with average download speeds of 145Mbps and 285Mbps, depending on what product you choose.

With the number of connected and WiFi-enabled devices in the home increasing, from smart TVs, speakers, virtual assistants and even intelligent fridges, every room of the house is becoming ‘smarter’. Fast and reliable broadband is now essential for our everyday lives, whether at work, for entertainment purposes such as gaming, or simply browsing on the sofa – it’s no longer something we can live without.

Sky’s next-generation broadband

Sky Broadband Ultrafast has been developed to address households’ ever-growing connectivity needs, as we live in a world where multiple devices are demanding fast connections all at the same time. With ultrafast speeds, a household could download a HD movie to a tablet in minutes, stream TV shows in 4K or high-quality music from a smartphone to a smart speaker, play the latest online games with real and virtual friends, all while browsing the web.

With Sky Broadband Ultrafast, you can:

  • Get average download speeds of 145Mbps or 285Mpbs, so you can connect to more of the things you love even faster, with no usage caps
  • Get the edge when gaming online, with faster upload speeds than the nearest competitor’s equivalent products*
  • Get the latest entertainment, movies and TV shows faster than ever. With Ultrafast you can download an entire HD movie in less than four minutes

Over 2 million UK homes will have access to Sky Broadband Ultrafast.
