Sky today releases the first look trailer for critically acclaimed paramedic comedy Bloods from Roughcut TV (Big Boys, Stath Lets Flats). Starring BAFTA nominated Samson Kayo (Our Flag Means Death) and Golden Globe nominated Jane Horrocks (Absolutely Fabulous), Bloods returns with 5 new episodes on 1 September on Sky Comedy and NOW.

In a special cameo guest appearance, former Doctor Who actor Peter Davison (Dr Who) is set to return to our screens in the newest instalment of the Sky Original Comedy. Donning the ‘doctor’ title once more, Davison makes a cameo appearance as a retired surgeon who comes to the aid of Bloods’ dysfunctional duo of paramedics; tough-acting Maleek (Kayo) and over-friendly divorcee Wendy (Horrocks).

In the latest instalment of episodes, we see Wendy and Maleek’s friendship blown apart when she accuses him of drinking on the job, Jo and Lawrence finally confront their complicated ‘situation’, (with hilarious results), and Gary and Kareshma go on quite the emotional rollercoaster.

Bloods returns on Thursday 1 September at 10pm on Sky Comedy and streaming service NOW. These brand-new episodes pick up with the eccentric paramedics of South Hill Ambulance Depot as they hilariously navigate their troubles, whether personal or medical.

The shows returning cast include; Lucy Punch (Motherland) as station boss Jo and Julian Barratt (Mighty Boosh) as Lawrence. Adrian Scarborough (Gavin and Stacey) and Aasiya Shah (Raised By Wolves) as Gary and Kareshma, Kevin Garry (Ted Lasso) and Sam Campbell (Melbourne International Comedy Festival Barry Award winner) as the glued-to-the-hip duo Darrell and Darryl. Katherine Kelly (Innocent, Liar) stars as the ambulance stations acting counsellor and Grace Fincham who plays Tash, Gary and Kareshma’s patient.

Bloods was commissioned by Jon Mountague, Director of Comedy, Sky Studios and Tilusha Ghelani, Commissioning Editor, Sky Studios, for Zai Bennett, Managing Director of Content, Sky UK. The series is produced by Roughcut TV in association with Sky Studios. Created by Samson Kayo and Nathan Byron, the show is produced by Debbie Pisani (Flack & Back to Life), and new writers include Patricia Alcock and Tom Melia. The executive producers for Roughcut are Ash Atalla (The Office, The IT Crowd) and Alex Smith (Trollied), Tilusha Ghelani is the Executive Producer for Sky Studios. Bloods is distributed by NBCUniversal Global Distribution on behalf of Sky Studios.
