Sky has unveiled the first look trailer and poster for GROW, a feel-good Sky Original family film for all ages. Following its World Premiere at this year’s Edinburgh International Film Festival on Saturday 16th August, the film will premiere on Sky Cinema on 10th October.
Cast members Golda Rosheuvel (Bridgerton), Priya-Rose Brookwell (The Lazarus Project), Dominic McLaughlin (HBO’s upcoming Harry Potter series), Jane Horrocks (Bloods), Jeremy Swift (Ted Lasso) and Scottish director John McPhail (Anna And The Apocalypse) will be in attendance at the festival.
GROW is a heart-warming tale of pumpkins, sabotage, and unlikely family bonds. A no-nonsense farmer in the self-proclaimed 'Pumpkin Capital of the World' takes in her estranged niece Charlie, who decides to enter the local pumpkin growing competition. As Charlie uses her unusual plant powers to nurture her pumpkin “Peter”, she grows closer to the town, the farm, and her new way of life.
Further members of the stellar ensemble British cast include Nick Frost (Harry Potter, How To Train Your Dragon), Joe Wilkinson (After Life), Tim McInnerny (Gladiator II), Alan Carr (Nativity!), Kathryn Drysdale (Bridgerton), Fisayo Akinade (Heartstopper) and Sharon Rooney (My Mad Fat Diary).
GROW filmed at multiple locations in Scotland including Edinburgh, Dalkeith, Pathhead, Culross, Rosyth and Gorebridge.
Sky’s Head of Original Film, Andrew Orr comments: “We’re incredibly proud to bring GROW to audiences at Edinburgh International Film Festival. It’s a beautifully crafted story full of heart, humour, and magic - a standout cast and fresh new talent in Priya-Rose Brookwell and Dominic McLaughlin. We believe GROW will resonate with families everywhere, and we’re thrilled to premiere it on Sky Cinema this October.”
GROW is produced by Sky and Double Nickel Entertainment in association with Screen Scotland, Orogen Entertainment and Blazing Griffen.
GROW will be released on Sky Cinema on 10th October.
