The life of Tupac Shakur has been told a thousand times, but the story of his murder has only ever been myth. In the thirty years since he was gunned down on the Las Vegas Strip, almost to the day, there had never been a trial. Until now.

On 31 August 2026, a Las Vegas jury found Duane "Keffe D" Davis guilty of first-degree murder. He will be sentenced on 13 October. Coming to Sky in 2027 a new feature documentary from Passion Pictures, Propagate Content and West Buttermilk will follow the landmark murder trial of Duane “Keffe D” Davis for the killing of Tupac Shakur, filming alongside members of the Shakur family as they lived through the courtroom drama and with unique access to those closest to events, including Mopreme Shakur, Tupac’s brother and members of Tupac’s inner circle.

For three decades the case gave the world everything except a clear truth; yet no voice was louder than Davis’s own — confessing on tape, on YouTube and in his own memoir. A jury has now decided that the most famous unsolved murder in modern American history was carried out all along by the man who kept telling the story of his own guilt: the longest-running hustle in hip-hop history has finally had its day in court, even as wider conspiracy theories continue to swirl. 

Directed by BAFTA winning and Emmy-nominated Marian Mohamed (Defending Digga D; Cult Massacre: One Day in Jonestown), the film follows the case from the first day of evidence through the verdict and on to sentencing. 

The film also features never-before-seen personal archive: intimate footage and stills from Tupac’s family and confidantes, set against the courtroom record of the trial itself. Together they reach past the myth to the man himself — an extraordinary, complicated life that came before his shocking death. Now told by the people who lived it alongside him.
