Sky Deutschland unveils slate of new Sky Originals

  • 60 German and international Sky Originals to air in 2022 alone
  • New series like Autobahn, Tender Hearts and Chameleon enable Sky to bring customers even more premium, local, originals

Sky Deutschland has announced a range of new original series Autobahn, Tender Hearts and Chameleon, alongside plans to bring customers over 60 German and international Sky Originals next year. The news follows the arrival of four new channels Sky Crime, Sky Comedy, Sky Nature and Sky Documentaries in Germany.

Autobahn – Even as kids, brothers Ali and Leo loved fast cars and motorsport. Today, as police officers, they know how to keep their cool while chasing suspects at 150mph. Shot across Bavaria, Autobahn is a new, high-octane, crime series (10 x 45’) from producer Action Concept in association with Sky Studios. The lead writers are Sven Frauenhoff and Andreas Brune. The producers are Heiko Schmidt, Andreas Perzl and Frank Jastfelder.

Tender Hearts – Frustrated with her dating and sex life, Mila orders a humanoid love robot from advanced tech firm, Tender Hearts. Set in the year 2036, the sensitive, humorous series asks profound questions about love, life and our ever increasing reliance on tech to fill our needs and desires. The series (8 x 30’) is produced by Odeon Film in association with Sky Studios with Eva Lia Reinegger set to pen the series, with Pola Beck as Director. The Executive Producers are Katja Herzog, Andreas Perzl, Frank Jastfelder.

Chameleon – Set in the murky and mysterious world of corporate lobbying, we meet Max ‘The Chameleon’ a calculated and smooth operator who begins to question himself after he meets Vallery, a new, mysterious lobbyist, who both attracts and repels him at the same time. Produced by Isarstraßen Film in association with Sky Studios, the series (8 x 45’) is penned by lead writer Christian Jeltsch.

In addition to these new Sky Originals, previously announced titles including The Ibiza Affair and The Wasp are both set to air this year, with Der Pass S2, Paradiso, Das Boot S3, Souls and the fourth season of the global hit Babylon Berlin all set to air in 2022.

By next year, we will have 60 Sky Originals on our schedule, including new Sky Original series from the UK and Italy."
