Sky receives record number of nominations for the British Academy Television and Television Craft Awards

Wednesday 20 March 2024

Today Sky received 31 nominations for the 2024 BAFTA Television and Television Craft Awards, with shows recognised across entertainment, arts, factual, scripted and news programming.

Today’s nominations are in addition to the Memorable Moment category, which was announced last week with nods to Succession and The Last of Us, bringing Sky’s total number of nominations to a record-breaking 33.

Sky original factual and factual entertainment programming received 13 of Sky’s 33 nominations, with multiple nods for shows including Lockerbie, Dublin Narcos, Portrait Artist of the Year and Otto Baxter: Not a F***ing Horror Story.

Cécile Frot-Coutaz, CEO of Sky Studios and Chief Content Officer, commented: “Over the past 12 months, we’ve brought viewers a raft of unmissable Sky Original entertainment programming, alongside bold and exceptional news reporting through Sky News. Today’s record haul of 33 BAFTA TV nominations is testament to the incredible creative teams in front and behind the camera. Congratulations to everyone who worked with us on these nominated programmes.”

The winners of the BAFTA Television Awards, hosted by Sky’s very own comedy duo, Rob Beckett and Romesh Ranganathan, will be announced on Sunday 12 May. The winners of the BAFTA Television Craft Awards will be announced on Sunday 28 April.
