Formula One is always exhilarating. This year, however, as we build up to the start of the new season in Bahrain this weekend, there is more riding on it than usual, as history is in the making. Lewis Hamilton is just one Driver’s Championship away from surpassing F1 great Michael Schumacher’s seven titles, and with it, will become the most decorated F1 driver of all time.

Ahead of what could be a momentous season for the British driver – and the sport as a whole – the Sky Sports F1 team have their say on Lewis and what he has done for the sport, why they always knew he was capable of greatness and how he has surpassed even their greatest expectations, both on and off the track.

This moving video sees Sky Sports F1 experts Martin Brundle, Johnny Herbert, Natalie Pinkham, Karun Chandhok, Rachel Brookes, Ted Kravitz and former F1 champions Damon Hill and Jenson Button delve into what makes Lewis so special.

Sky Sports’ extensive coverage of F1 forms just a part of the broadcaster’s comprehensive motorsports rights portfolio, alongside Formula 2, Formula 3, Indycar, GT, Ferrari Challenge and Extreme-E, giving motorsport fans an unrivalled offering of racing action.

Watch every race of the 2021 F1 season exclusively live on Sky Sports F1 and NOW, starting in Bahrain this weekend.
