Inclusive procurement maturity model

Our mission is to support an Inclusive Procurement process , in which all businesses have an opportunity to participate, including both small and diverse businesses. We aim to provide a level playing field for all qualified suppliers to ensure Sky accesses the entire market for innovation & ideas, whilst also maximizing competition and ensuring long term market health.

To support this ambition, we developed the Inclusive Procurement Maturity Model, a UK centred tool designed to help organisations assess, benchmark, and improve their inclusive procurement practices. The model provides a clear practical framework aligned with evolving regulations, including the UK Procurement Act 2023 and 2025, helping businesses to build more equitable and transparent supply chains.

Without a structured approach, progress on supplier inclusion can be inconsistent, limiting opportunities for small and underrepresented businesses and holding back innovation. By fostering collaboration across industries, the Inclusive Procurement Maturity Model supports organisations in driving economic resilience and delivering meaningful change in procurement practices.

By taking a proactive approach, we are not just transforming our own supply chain, we are helping shape a more inclusive and innovative procurement landscape across the UK.

The maturity model reflects Sky’s specific experience and learnings, including tackling disability exclusion. It was developed with input from advocacy groups, other businesses, and subject matter experts, ensuring it is both practical and grounded in real world insight
